How pleased is every single football fan that Lionel Messi has had a baby and it’s a BOY! Essentially, what this means is that in about 15 or 16 years time there will be another young adult Messi starting out in his professional career, ready to terrorise the world of football just like his dad does, and we cannot wait.
Now let’s not forget that Lionel Messi is only 25-years-old, so if the Barcelona magician, and all round incredible player, is still good enough (silly statement) to be playing at the age of 40, we may see two Messi’s in the same team. That very statement makes my hairs stand on end.
Little Thiago Messi has no idea of the boots he will one day hope to filll, and I must say I do not envy him or the pressure he will be under to be anywhere near as good as his father. But with Lionel Messi as his personal coach, he probably has a better chance than anyone at being a world beater.
The birth of young Thiago is exciting, but it’s done something strange to his untouchable father; Messi played for the first time since the birth of his child…and he didn’t score.
Maybe we have finally found the Argentinian’s weakness. Maybe the only thing that can prevent the playmaker from single-handedly destroying everything in his path on a football pitch is the distraction of nappy-changing, sleepless nights and a general love for something else that could equal his love for the beautiful game.
Congratulations and thank you to Lionel Messi and his girlfriend Antonella Roccuzzo for the birth of their child.
