The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has dismissed the appeal filed by the Malaga on the penalty imposed by UEFA and has suspended them from the next edition of the Europa League, after finishing sixth place in La Liga, reported the Andalusian club.
Today completed a week of hearings held at the CAS headquarters in Lausanne (Switzerland), where Málaga argued that they have met the standards required by the ‘financial fair play’ imposed by UEFA.
With this decision, published today by TAS itself in a statement, the club must comply with all of the fine imposed by UEFA, which consists of a monetary fine of three hundred thousand euros and a year without competing in Europe, after the football club annulled fulfilling an additional year that they were conditioned to keep up economically before 31 March.
The Malaga was sanctioned on December 21 by UEFA without participating in European competition for debts with the public administration. Continue reading TAS drops Malaga from European competition
