Spurs have currently began getting ready for life without Modric by trying to gazump Liverpool’s bid to sign Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Sigurdsson is readily available for around £8m from German club Hoffenheim and both Tottenham and Liverpool are prepared to meet that asking price, while Swansea, where the Icelander played on loan last season, have also made an offer.
