Valencia utterly dismantle Rayo Vallecano 4-0 0

Posted on May 13, 2013 by Ifreke Okpokowuruk

Valencia lifted themselves into La Liga’s final Champions League position with a cruising victory over Rayo Vallecano on Sunday. Los Che’s win comes with three games to play, and bodes well for them even though Real Sociedad can take fourth place back with a win on Monday.

Roberto Soldado kicked off the scoring barrage by netting a penalty shot in the 28th minute, after a bad foul by Vallecano’s Roberto Trashorras. He scored again in the 34th, after a beautiful assist from Andrés Guardado that left him with only a tap in.

17 minutes into the second half Guardado shook off his lengthy scoring drought after collecting his own rebound and firing it into the net. Nelson Valdez capped off the scoring with a left corner volley after a wondrous overhead through ball from teammate Sofiane Feghouli.
