Caparros to coach Levante next year

Coach Joaquin Caparros will coach Levante in the next season, 2013-2014, following the agreement reached between the Valencian club and the Andalusian coach, as reported by Levante on Sunday.

Caparros (Utrera, 1955) will coach Levante accompanied by a coaching body composed of Luciano Martin Toscano, last with the club as a player in the 1999-2000 season, Lluis Llopis, goalkeeping, and Bernardo Requena, responsible for the physical training.

Levante’s new coach was last season with Real Mallorca, but last February 4 was dismissed after having joined the club Mallorca in 2011. The Andalusian coach replaces Alicante Juan Ignacio Martinez, who after two seasons Levante decided not to renew his contract.

Joaquin Caparros has extensive coaching career in Spanish football which highlights his work in Seville (2000-2005), Deportivo La Coruna (2005-2007) and Athletic (2007-2011). He also had a stint Villarreal in 1999 and the Swiss Neuchatel in 2011.

Caparros will be officially presented as new coach of Levante on Tuesday.
