Bayern Munich just finished hoisting the UEFA Champions League trophy, so one could understand if players and coaches let any comment fly without reservation. Anatoly Tymoshchuk, Bayern Munich’s Ukrainian midfielder, did just that this week during an interview on Russian television.
“There is a 99 percent chance that Heynckes will train Real Madrid next season,” he said.
If true, the statement would be an incredible revelation about Bayern Munich’s current coach, Jupp Heynckes, who is set to be replaced by Pep Guardiola at the end of the season. As a player of the club, Anatoly seems to have inside information, but these reports have been unconfirmed.
Enrique Reyes, Heynckes agent, remarked how his client would be “delighted” to return to the Bernabeu, where the storied coach won a European Cup back in 1998.
Heynckes takes his Bayern team into the German Cup final this weekend, where he’ll have a chance to complete a trifecta, winning the Bundesliga, Champions League, and the German Cup.
