On his way out? John Terry is preparing to leave Chelsea to Join La Liga’s Valencia, according to a Spanish football agent

Spanish football agent Francois Gallardo has stated that Chelsea’s star defender and captain John Terry is preparing for a surprise move to La Liga club Valencia.

The former England defender is never far from the making headlines and controversy, and this is the latest installment of the centre back’s dramatic story.

Rumours fly around effortlessly in football, so it’s not a complete shock that Terry is now caught up in speculation about his future.

But are the reports of a proposed move to Spanish league La Liga true, and is he really in talks with Valencia?

“Valencia are negotiating and I am involved in person,’ Gallardo claimed when talking to a Spanish radio station.

“The offer is on his table. The player is out of contract in June and will not renew there for several reasons at Chelsea and he wants to come to Spain.

“He asked to leave. It’s real. This has been going on for 15 days and two meetings already took place. I think he will accept.”

The claims from the Spanish football agent will come as a shock to football fans if they do have any credibility, but Chelsea were quick to deny the Spanish agent, with a club spokesman from the London club describing the claims as ‘nonsense’.

Terry’s current contract with the Blues still has 18 months left to run, meaning he should be a Chelsea player until at least the end of the 2013/14 season if he stays loyal and sticks with his current deal.

The headline-stealing former England captain won’t be happy about talks of uncertainty regarding the player’s future, after his four-match ban implemented by the FA over being found guilty of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand last season.

Terry was born in London and didn’t stray far when he started out as a boy playing for West Ham United, but the star moved to Chelsea at 14-years-old and has remained with the Stamford Bridge outfit for the entirety of his professional career.

The current Premier League leaders have stood by him during the difficult, challenging times in recent months, so it’s hard to imagine JT walking away from the club that have backed him so comprehensively, but only time will tell.
